I wrapped up my April reads clocking in at THIRTEEN books! Which is probably more books than I have ever read in my life in that timeframe. Most of these were amazing- but some were a little disappointing.
Small Great Things: This is probably one of my all time favorite books. It was heartbreaking, infuriating, eye opening, and basically all of the feels. I’m also fascinated with Labor & Delivery so the medical side of this book was super interesting to me.
The Family Upstairs: I love a good thriller. This one was super entertaining and kept me guessing until the end.
The Woman In The Window: I’m late to the party on this on- but I wanted to read it before the movie came out! I loved it. I thought I had it figured out and then when the end came, I was definitely wrong.
Normal People: This was one that I wasn’t that impressed with- especially given the hype. I didn’t care for the characters, the authors writing style (helllooo, where’s your punctuation??) and I felt like the story just abruptly ended.
The Grace Year: I love me a good dystopian story. This is a cross between the Hunger Games & lord of the flies. And it rocked.
The Jetsetters: Dysfunctional families, vacations, and multiple story lines. This is a good one.
Someone Knows: Another thriller/mystery. Definitely heartbreaking, but overall a good read.
After Anna: Page turner FOR SURE. I had no idea how it was going to end and I was impressed. Lisa Scottoline is quickly becoming my favorite author.
In Five Years: This was a quick read & definitely an emotional one. I’ll be looking forward to more work from this author. She is a wizard.
All We Ever Wanted: Another quick read. It was decent- But not my fav.
A Good Neighborhood: I almost gave up on this one. It was slow beginning- but I’m happy I stuck with it because it turned out to be BANANAS. My only gripe is that I feel like one portion of the storyline wasn’t wrapped up like the others.
The Wives: Holy Shit. This was a good one. UNTIL THE END. Which basically ruined it for me. I would still read it though.
Such A Fun Age: Another really good one. This is a heartbreaking, infuriating, and eye opening.
